The Duck Run picks up again in Singapore, this time with our good friend from Australia, Cormie, in town.

Now here’s a man who knows his ducks, or anything with feathers for that matter, between the sites of his shotgun. Legendary for his marksmanship from as far afield as the moors of Scotland, the heaths of Devon and the tundra of Kyneton, Cormie prefers his duck peppered with shot, however he gives the nod and smile of approval of the wife’s duck curry.

Equally favourable remarks are extended to the accompanying wine selected by the Wandering Palate, 2009 Pegasus Bay Prima Donna Pinot Noir, which is saying something for a man who prefers cabernet and hand-to-hand combat reds. Despite the wine coming from New Zealand, he agrees on my short-listing this for the Wandering Palate Must-Have Wines of the Lunar Year – Best Red Wine.

Folks, this is an official leak, pre-release of my annual lunar review, so you can get your hands on some before it runs out. An article in wings, but all I can say is this wine is comparable to the highest echelons of Burgundy, it a fraction of the price.
